Winter 2000

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! Tidings of Great Joy

With current ERDF, HLI, Lloyds TSB and Northern Rock Foundation Grants in hand we approach 2001 with a steady hand on the helm and in good heart.

The power within the mill is now to the machines and we hope to commission these early in 2001. The whole site is now waterlogged but our stream has remained in it’s channel, and the site paths remain passable with care.

Our new office is now complete and is a much improved environment for paperwork. The recent very heavy rains tested our watercourses to the full and all systems worked well. We were prepared for more than we received and surplus water was directed clear of the buildings and machinery.

We need more Trustees to join our forces! Anybody interested can contact the Mill on 0191 4146288 or send a letter for attention of the Trustee’s to the Mill address to the right.

Our neighbours at Path Head Farm have nearly completed the restoration of “The Fold Yard” into a desirable “L” shaped bungalow, so now only the “Stable Block” awaits restoration and then landscaping of the whole site will greatly improve our image from the road.

Plans are being looked at for more pond area and maybe further Tea Room facilities and display area, so we don’t stand still.

Trevor's Poem was also featured in this newsletter - please follow the link for Mill poetry to the left to see the poem.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

We are closed between December 18th and January 9th for Christmas an Annual holiday. We look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.
