What a scorcher, so Summer has arrived. Outdoor work at the Mill
is taking advantage of the fine weather. A lot of the pond side
works have been completed and grants to cover the cost of machines
and GSB for the paths have been successful so now it’s full
steam ahead and try to get the outdoor projects completed before
the weather breaks. We should have our reservoir liner this August
and that will enable us to complete the earthworks at the West
end of the site.
Since our
last NEWSLETTER we held a Folk Festival at the Mill, running alongside
Blaydon Race Festival. This was a huge success with some of the
“turns” booking up for next year. About 400 people
attended over the two days and the weather was perfect. Some sang,
some listened and some danced and a good time was had by all.
We also let the Mill out
for a children’s party in August, this was a great success
and again a good time was had by all.
Now we hope that things are
starting to move on, The Mill is becoming a recognised venue and
our location and features appeal to a variety of groups and entertainment.
