Spring 2006

Spring has arrived, the temperature has started to rise, we have seen some sun and a few showers. The Mill stire is starting to green and the disruption of the pond cleaning is being disguised by nature. We have had a donation of about £500 of plants from Sita to help with the pond side greening process. Our pond is now back to about 4ft deep.

The Acomb Wheel is now fully soleboarded and the overshot buckets are starting from the path side to the top. Thanks to effort from Ben and our volunteer Dean for progress in some inclement weather for this work.

A Water Feature is now taking shape and a filling, tipping Device is situated between the reservoir and the reed bed. This gives a Chinese Water Garden type movement and will be heard clicking away when our reservoir overflows.

Just to recap and for thise who haven't seen our previous newsletters the reservoir is filled from the Hydraulic Ram Pump and the Wind Pump, when water is not being drawn off to the Water turbine, excess water will overflow through this feature.

We now look forward to a nice fine Summer and an increase in our visitors to help our finances, it would be nice to have a financial buffer at the end of the Summer.

I think that's about all for now, I hope you like the new typeface, I think it's open and nice and easy to read and this will be reflected in the rest of the website over the next few months.

Regards Trevor & Ben, May 2006
